Might be, it is the type of sound. I have not tried ogg files
(I don't have any), but I have tried .avi, .mov, .mpg, which didn't work
on my system. I'll try to do some more testing with more files of
different types.

Well, it works on my system. It's a Slack 8.1 upgraded. KDE is 3.1
