I can compile it with AMD Athlon, with
./configure --enable-gui --enable-menu --disable-xvid --language='pl en'
--enable-dynamic-plugins --enable-xmms --disable-lirc

Probably what Sasha is testing now (the code he has given to you) will
help, and for now try ./configure --disable-big-endian ...
