Hi,

I realize -aop is depreciated, but volnorm is very useful.

-af volnorm. can we please let -aop rest? i'm actually inclined to remove it since people keep asking about bugs in it...

Please do. No sense in keeping deprecated code forever...

Please don't, at least not until there's some solid and - if not necessarily intuitive - at least not difficult-to-set-up-reliably alternate way of getting equally high-quality software volume control.

I've seen it implied that such a thing already exists (and I still
haven't gotten around to testing the little patch Reimar sent for me to
use as a starting point... I'll probably do that next, unless I decide
that I'm *far* too short on sleep right now), but nothing I've tried has
worked acceptably.

When such a thing does exist and Works For Me, I almost certainly will
not hesitate to agree to (finally) removing the deprecated code.
