Hi Mustafa: Yes, it's absolutely effort-less to
download/compile/install CVS mplayer. I tried it
successfully on these three distros:

PCLinuxOS 0.92
FC4
Mandriva 2006

To download CVS, follow instructions on mplayer's web
site - they are crystal clear. Then just issue the
three standard commands:

$./configure
$make
#make install

Re. my problems with Debian, I don't quite remember
what dependency complaint I got, but I wasn't getting
anywhere fast with Debian or any Debian-based distro I
tried. And please, I'm ***NOT*** badmouthing Debian
here; I'm sure it's my problem.  But I just
continuously find much easier to work with on of the
above mentioned distros.
