i missed this in my original reply.

okay, i guess i mis-spoke before, but RFF and TFF are definitely sometimes
missing. the display times are 2.0*, 3.0* for long stretches and then
suddenly there's one or more 1.0s in there.

not sure if this is really considered a loss of the telecine mode or not.
i've noticed that even DVDs look like this sometimes, which seems to
be the reason why the display times are scaled and averaged in video.c.
