I've already seen this. It should'nt hard to fix, so stay tuned for a new patch.
If you are interested to encode in MJPEG, and not to other features of
libavifile, I suggest to use -y ffmpeg -F mjpeg, since export_ffmpeg
has better support and more broad userbase (just for the record, I
hardly have just _installed_ avifile...).

It's a strange behaviour, but I suspect a avifile issue right here.
Anyway, I'll take a look ASAP.
