Hi,
how many of you developers are interested in libmp1e except from me and Arpi?
And Arpi, how fast do you want a clean version of it, so far I have one which doesn't include audio support. But I'm considering writing my own mpeg-1 library instead, it will probably take a little longer than cleaning up libmp1e would do, but I think I would be able to create a much cleaner lib that would be geared towards mplayer and nothing else.
I feel I'm pretty familiar with the mpeg1 concept to do it, and if not, we still have libmp1e.
You told me to clean up libmp1e asap, do you want me to remove the multiplexer and threads before trying to make a new mpeg1 lib, or should I leave them (currently the only thing the multiplexer does is that you cana add multiple video streams to it... so it's theoretically unused)
mp1e has some features which are unneeded such as vcd content creating and mpeg2 support, so a totally new fast libmpeg1 would not be such a bad idea, and I think it would be easier to create one from scratch than to try to clean up libmp1e from everything unnecessary.
