Hi,

I'm having the same problem you mentioned trying to get xine and/or ogle to run on my RedHat8.0 ThinkPad. I think it is an X config problem, but have no idea how to get visibility into the problem. I think I'm wasting memory with a ton of fonts, but have no idea how much ogle is demanding or how current video memory is being used.

Did you ever get mplayer to run on your ThinkPad? If so, what did you do?
