You are correct, some clarification is needed.
I diasgreed with the opinion expressed that either the CD-R's are to blame or 
the downloaded stuff is problematic and stated my personal experience. I do 
not know in any detail the diferences between DivX(4/5) and XviD and this 
list has been a very valuable knowledge pool for me. Actually I just learned, 
reading this list, that there is such thing as a "container" for MPEG4 and 
that the .AVI file format is such a container. Your remarks have helped me a 
lot and I can only thank you for them.
