Yes this should work. Concerning the lack of debian support, that can be explained by the fact a patch i sent to current maintainers got lost in their mailbox somehow. My patch just add a initbuf member in Bitstream structure to restore the buf member when BitstreamReset() is called. But this can be done without introducing such a new member in Bitstream like the current CVS implementaion made by Skal. It's my mistake. It = fails to build because of the line quanth263_intraFunc dequant_intra_ia64; in file quant.h (quanth263_intraFunc is not defined and the function name = differs from the name in quant_h263_ia64.s). Changing the line to quant_intraFunc dequant_h263_intra_ia64; solves the problem. I'm working on a IA64 = machine with Linux which uses little endian. After patching the file quant.= h = (as described in my previous mail) everything compiled fine and the decoder = worked without any problems, but the encoder produces invalid bitstreams.
